Installed at the compressor’s suction port, this valve is primarily used to isolate the compressor from the rest of the refrigeration system. It allows refrigerant to flow into the cylinder, but can be manually adjusted (typically using a wrench) to shut off the line. This enables the compressor to be serviced, tested, or replaced without having to discharge the refrigerant from the entire system
