Technical characteristics
● Filter paper: Oil filters have higher requirements for filter paper than air filters, mainly because the temperature change of oil varies from 0 to 300 degrees. Under the drastic temperature change, the concentration of oil also changes accordingly, which will affect the filtering flow of oil. The filter paper of high quality oil filter should be able to filter impurities under the drastic temperature change and at the same time ensure sufficient flow rate.
●Rubber seal: The filter seal of high quality oil is made of special rubber synthetic to ensure 100% no leakage.
●Return inhibition valve: Only available in high quality oil filters. When the engine is off, it prevents the oil filter from becoming dry; when the engine is re-ignited, it immediately generates pressure to supply oil to lubricate the engine. (also called check valve)
● Relief valve: Only available in high quality oil filters. When the external temperature drops to a specific value or when the oil filter exceeds its normal service life, the relief valve opens under special pressure, allowing unfiltered oil to flow directly into the engine. Although the impurities in the oil will thus enter the engine together, the damage is much less than that caused by the absence of oil in the engine. Therefore, the relief valve is the key to protecting the engine in case of emergency. (Also called bypass valve)
Function
Under normal circumstances, the engine parts are lubricated by the oil to achieve normal work, but the metal debris generated by the operation of the parts, the dust, high temperature oxidized carbon and some water vapor will continue to mix into the oil, the service life of the oil will be reduced over time, and in serious cases may affect the normal operation of the engine.
Therefore, the role of the oil filter comes into play at this time. Simply put, the role of the oil filter is to filter most of the impurities in the oil, to keep the oil clean and extend its normal service life. In addition, the oil filter should also have a strong filtering capacity, low flow resistance, long service life and other properties.
